Abstract

Household waste remains a critical environmental issue requiring serious intervention due to the lack of community knowledge regarding its management. Improperly managed waste adversely affects public health, hygiene, and overall environmental quality. The Sahabat Ibu Waste Bank (Bank Sampah) in Jember Regency serves as a community empowerment initiative for household waste management by implementing the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R). This study aims to determine the relationship between community knowledge and household waste management at the Sahabat Ibu Waste Bank, Jember Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design, utilizing a purposive area technique for site selection. The population consisted of 115 members, with a sample of 53 respondents selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and documentation, then analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test through SPSS version 25. The results indicate a significant relationship between community knowledge and household waste management, categorized within the "moderate" relationship level
