Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Love of the Qur'an Movement (GCA) in fostering the religious character of students at SMA Negeri 4 Mataram and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation with Islamic Religious Education teachers, supervising teachers, and students. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of GCA is carried out through three main stages, namely planning, implementation, and program evaluation. The program is carried out routinely every morning through the habit of reading the Qur'an and learning tajwid to shape the religious character of students. The implementation of the program shows the development of religious character through the aspects of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. Supporting factors for the program include student self-motivation, positive feelings when reading the Qur'an, the role of teachers, school support, academic grades, and peer support. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include the lack of habit of reading the Qur'an, laziness, students' less than optimal physical readiness, and negative peer influence. In general, the GCA program has had a positive impact on the development of students' religious character, although it still faces several challenges in its implementation.
